"Ayurveda" is translated as the "Science of life" and represents an enormously deep and profound system of traditional Indian medicine that has been practiced continuously for over 5,000 years. Ayurveda is primarily focused on maintaining good health and preventing disease through simple, accessible, and sustainable daily practices. This workshop will help you reduce feelings of stress, exhaustion, and scatteredness (elevated vata dosha) that often increase in the cool, windy fall weather. We'll ease tension in a slow, full-body, intermediate-level yoga practice emphasizing deep leg & hip work--enveloped in Ayurvedic theory. Then explore relaxing breath-work, a luscious self-massage (abhyanga) with organic oils, a soothing body scan meditation in relaxation pose (yoga nidra), and discussion on Ayurvedic self-care practices for autumn. Enjoy a pre-Halloween cup of organic tea & a deliciously-rejuvenating Ayurvedic treat!
Note: bring a towel and wear clothes that can expose the arms & lower legs for self-massage.
