What to expect

Ayurveda teaches that how we feel is a result of our environment, foods, activities, relationships, and entertainment choices; this makes it important to understand each individual as completely as possible. The initial consultation is a means of getting to know you in order to understand your unique situation.

During your 60-minute Ayurveda Consultation, you and Larissa will discuss your health goals, current health challenges, and current diet, exercise, and lifestyle habits

This includes assessment to determine the current state of the doshas (vata, pitta, kapha) and the maha gunas (sattva, rajas, tamas). (Unique constitution is not usually determined in the first session.)

Based on the findings from the intake form and consultation conversation, you will be given personalized Ayurvedic diet, self-care, and lifestyle recommendations (as well as dosha-balancing yoga, pranayama breathing techniques, &/or meditation instruction, as appropriate) to support your journey toward thriving health and wellness.

Healthy living is a lifestyle—not a quick fix.

The word "Ayurveda" is translated as the science of life. Ayurveda represents an enormously deep and profound system of traditional Indian medicine that has been practiced continuously for over 5,000 years.

Ayurveda is primarily focused on maintaining good health and preventing disease through simple, accessible, and sustainable daily & seasonal practices.  It's a vast and thorough system of medicine that supports a healthy body, mind, senses, and spirit.  Although the full medical science of Ayurveda includes surgery and treatment of disease, in the USA, Ayurveda is used mainly for preventative care and alleviation of general discomfort.

Ayurveda can help reduce: acid indigestion, constipation, headaches, dry skin, acne, congestion, bad breath, water retention, weight gain, trouble sleeping, low libido, PMS, menopausal discomforts, stress, and more.

Traditional Ayurveda techniques teach safe and manageable self-care practices that most anyone can do.

These practices include adjusting to the daily rhythms and monthly cycles of nature that directly affect our health, like prioritizing a seasonal and local diet, eating mindfully to enhance digestion, taking proper care of the sense organs (e.g. neti pot, tongue scraping, and abhyanga), and utilizing appropriate yoga and fitness routines that are best for each individual.

Ayurveda empowers people to take control of their lifestyle, often with astounding results including:

Improved digestion, elimination, sleep, sex drive, and mood

→Strengthened immunity, harmonized energy, resilience to stress, and radiant vitality

→Increased contentment, calmness, presence, awareness, equanimity, steadiness, and inner peace

Simple, positive changes can radically affect your health, happiness, relationships, and spiritual contentment.

The best way to begin an exploration of Ayurveda is to work with a certified and experienced Ayurvedic practitioner. For the past 14 years, working 1:1 with clients has been one of the most rewarding and fulfilling aspects of my career.

Cheers to glowing health!
